About our concrete contractor company in Milford

A wide, light-gray concrete driveway with straight control joints leads to a dark garage door beside stone walls and landscaped beds.

How I got started in concrete work

I spent every summer through school on concrete crews, raking, finishing and learning what makes a slab last. Most of it came down to the parts nobody sees once the pour is done. That's the subgrade, which is the packed ground the slab sits on, plus where the water runs and what goes into the mix. When those get rushed, that's usually where the cracks and sinking start.

I started Premier Milford Concrete here in Milford, CT in 2023 because I wanted to run jobs the way I'd want my own done. I still come out to look at every job myself, and the crew and I do the work. Most calls are homeowners planning a driveway, patio, walk or steps, with some foundation and commercial work mixed in. Concrete here has to hold up through freezing and thawing, so I'll tell you plainly what your job needs and what it doesn't. If you'd rather start in writing, you can reach us through the contact page.

What working with us looks like on your job

These are the things you'll notice from the first visit to the day your new slab is ready to use, because they decide how your concrete holds up long after we leave.

  • You meet the owner at the estimate

I come out and look at your driveway, patio or steps in person, so the plan fits your yard and not a guess over the phone. You get a clear plan you can decide on fast, with no runaround.

  • The base comes before the finish

We work out the base, drainage and mix before anything gets poured, because a nice surface on a poorly packed base still settles with the dirt. If the budget's tight, I'd rather keep the money in the base and keep the finish simple.

  • An estimate you can actually compare

Your written estimate spells out what's in it, like the size, the digging and base work, and the finish you pick, so there's nothing to guess about when you hold it next to another bid. The work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee, and you can call (475) 549-2244 to set up a visit.

Licensing, insurance and Milford permits

  • Fully licensed and insured.

It's the first thing to ask any concrete contractor before they bring a truck onto your property. You shouldn't be the one on the hook if something goes wrong while the crew is working.

  • Permits and inspections handled

The city's Building Inspection Division issues building permits for work beyond ordinary repairs and checks that it's built to code. The city also puts it on you, the homeowner, to make sure the work gets inspected. When our work needs a permit, we file the application and set up the inspections, and at the estimate we tell you what the city will want from you. A driveway that meets the street, or work on a curb or sidewalk, also needs the city's Engineering Department to sign off.
